Corporate Packages

Your employees are valuable and the fact that you're here, reading this suggests that you agree.  VFS set up the coaching arm of our consultancy because we are passionate about how powerful performance coaching can be.  We want to help others increase their performance and wellbeing.

At VFS, we have experience of working in the fast-paced, energetic but often chaotic environment of a start-up, right through to  the complex social networks and alignment issues of the corporate environment.  As such we understand how coaching programmes can be tailored to meet the needs of your people and your business.

What is a Corporate Coaching Package?

Coaching is a highly effective tool in cultivating a culture of learning, growth and continuous improvement. It can be especially powerful when individual development is aligned to the strategic direction of your business, potentially generating substantial improvements in organisational performance and business outcomes.  See our section below on Coaching return on investment (ROI).

It encourages self-reflection, it’s people-oriented, solution-focused and develops people both personally and professionally.

A VFS Corporate Coaching Package is simply a portfolio of VFS coaching programmes that maximise the results for your business, by increasing synergies between your individual coaching programmes.

Programmes & Portfolios

We explain more below, but in summary, a coaching programme is for an individual, that includes several 60-minute sessions at weekly or fortnightly intervals with a coach and enhanced by the inclusion of tools such as tailored 360 feedback services and personal strengths assessments.

When we run several individual coaching programmes in parallel, we refer to this as a portfolio of coaching programmes.

When we run a portfolio we can support each individual in more ways than when their programme is run in isolation.  One coach working with several individuals gains unique insights into the team dynamics and culture. This unique insight will support the diagnosis of issues and allow the identification of opportunities to increase synergy between individuals or resolve underlying friction.  All whilst retaining complete coach-coachee confidentiality.

In addition, a portfolio of coaching can be designed around the cohort working towards common goals.

Internal or External Coaches?...or both?

Providing coaching from within an organisation can be difficult; as an employee, the in-house coach can be too close to the business and individuals, and may be hampered by knowing too much about current or perceived constraints. It’s also likely that coaching is an “add on” to an already full role.  The coachee needs to be willing and able to express themselves honestly and without reserve. This willingness can be severely stifled when the coach and coachee are colleagues, particularly where there are perceived differences in seniority, experience or ability.

This is not to say there isn’t a place for in-house coaching. In the right circumstances, it can yield fantastic results but this will depend on the outcomes you are seeking.

If you are keen to explore an in-house or mixed approach, VFS can support you with:

Using a specialist company such as VFS to provide your coaching, is a clear signal to your employees that they are valued and that you are investing in them.

The return on this investment comes from the entire organisation working better due to strong leadership and greater cultural cohesion. There are quantifiable benefits such as higher employee satisfaction and productivity, leading to better engagement, improved quality outputs and higher customer satisfaction all of which support an increase in bottom-line business results.  See below for one such respected study showing a 788% ROI.

External Coaches

VFS works across a variety of industries and has gained a wealth of experience in both public and private sectors along the way. This breadth of experience has provided us with valuable insights that in-house coaches are unlikely to have. We are constantly being exposed to new and evolving practices, increasing and improving our knowledge, and by extension, that of our clients.

As external coaches, we provide an unbiased and fresh perspective. We think creatively and take a holistic view.  We understand the nuances, frustrations, challenges and options to help you move forwards.

Our independence is fundamental to winning trust, gaining buy-in and having effective engagements. Independence combined with confidentiality provides the coachee with a safe space to speak frankly and comfortably with the coach, this, in turn, provides the best possible environment for professional and personal growth.

And to top it off, our coaches have been trained and are accredited.  Our coaches are experts in Coaching, Positive Psychology and the Science of Happiness at Work, all legitimate fields of research.

Coaching Portfolios

Whilst we offer excellent coaching programmes for individuals, to maximise results for your business we recommend a portfolio of VFS coaching programmes. This is a powerful and effective way to realise and develop the potential of your executives and leadership teams and bring about growth and greater capability throughout your organisation.  In summary, if we run several individual coaching programmes in parallel, whilst still retaining full coach-coachee confidentiality, we can support each individual in more ways.

By working with your team through their personal programmes a coach gains unique insights into the team dynamics and culture. This unique insight will support the diagnosis of issues and allow the identification of opportunities to increase synergy between individuals or resolve underlying friction.

Typically an individual coaching programme is structured around a minimum of 5 x 60-minute sessions at weekly or fortnightly intervals. The programme is further enhanced by the inclusion of tools such as 360 feedback and personal strengths assessments.

This approach supports the building of rapport and trust between the coach and coachee and allows the coachee to settle into the process. Holding sessions weekly gives time in between for the coachee to reflect and consider any areas of discussion they want to take forward before reconvening.

Whilst this is the recommended minimum number and duration of sessions, we are happy to discuss a bespoke programme should you require a more flexible approach.

The ROI from Coaching

We are often asked, “What can I expect my Return on Investment to be from coaching?”.  Fortunately, there have been numerous academic studies into this very question.  Before we tackle specific ROI numbers, it’s important to recognise that different executives and leaders have different levels of monetary value generation for their business.  As such ROI of coaching varies directly as a result of this.  Some studies1 have shown tens of millions of dollars return from using coaches with their most senior people.  These studies2 make claims of an overall ROI of 788%.  I suppose most importantly however is the overwhelming positive response to the question “Would you use coaching again?” respondents respond “Yes” well over 90% of the time.

At VFS, we focus on maximising ROI by keeping our engagements focussed on the things that make the most difference.  You'll often find some large coaching companies have all kinds of products and add-ons to their coaching programmes.  We stick to what is proven to work.
